"No Matter What You Do, People Will Talk—So Live Your Life!"

Are We Living for Ourselves or for Others?

Have you ever noticed that no matter what you do......wearing your favourite colour shirt or capturing a picture of nature.......someone always has a comment to make?

It happens everywhere at school, college, the gym, and the workplace. And, of course, our relatives and neighbours are often the first to judge.

People are naturally judgmental. It’s part of human nature. Because of this, many of us work hard to present ourselves in a way that gains social approval. We buy things not just for personal happiness but to shape the way others perceive us.

But is this really necessary?

Does loving someone solely for their social status bring real happiness? Is it worth paying EMIs for cars, bikes, or properties just to receive validation from others? Are we truly living the life we want, or are we just trying to fit into an image society has created for us?

Instead, we should focus on what genuinely brings us joy. We must love people who make us feel valued rather than those who fit a societal ideal. We should buy things that bring us happiness, not just approval.

At the end of the day, life is too short to be lived for the opinions of others. Do what makes you happy. Choose what feels right for you. That’s where true fulfilment lies.

Sitting and enjoying a calm evening with your loved ones is way better than attending a party just for the sake of societal pressure or to show off on social media

Remember these points

  1. Live for Yourself, Not for Validation – Seeking approval from others can be exhausting. True happiness comes from doing what you love, not from impressing society.

  2. Love Those Who Truly Value You – A relationship built on social status is empty. Real love comes from feeling valued, respected, and supported.

  3. Spend on What Brings You Joy, Not Just Prestige – Owning luxury items for social validation won’t bring lasting happiness. Invest in experiences and things that genuinely fulfil you.
