Expectations is our first enemy

A father expects his son to become an International cricketer, a mother expects her daughter to become a renowned engineer, a coach expects his student to be the top performer, and a teacher expects his/her student to become the topper of the class or maybe the department, relatives expect you to stay in touch with them, parents expect their children to earn a great salary,  friends expect you to give them a good treat and a boy expects his crush girl to reply to his messages and fall in love and this circle of expectations goes on.

What is an expectation?

An expectation is a strong belief that something will happen in the future which can be both short and long-term, but does this happen most of the time? nope, it doesn't, people always anticipate for many things to happen and get depressed, frustrated, demotivated, and demoralized when things go the opposite way which can be seen from their behavior on both social media and real life, most of them put on sad status or stories on WhatsApp and Instagram and show signs of resentment, anger, and hopelessness in their facial expressions when they converse with you in person due to failed expectations.

Expectations have made us vulnerable to our own destruction in both personal and professional lives as we expect a lot from others and vice versa, leading us to lose internal and external peace.

ZERO EXPECTATION EQUALS ZERO DISAPPOINTMENTS

Once you stop expecting things to happen and take everything as it is you will feel more at peace which will allow you to stay in the present and enjoy the little things that life has to offer, for
instance, if you are going out with friends don't expect them to accompany you to your favorite restaurant, instead you try out a new restaurant which they suggest, who knows that might turn out to be good and you guys might end up having a great time.

DO SOMETHING INSTEAD OF EXPECTING

Always do what has to be done or do something that will be helpful for your personal well-being such as working out at a gym, learning new software, reading books, making new friends, working for your job, or preparing well in advance for a presentation meeting because you can't expect someone else to do it for you and they will not do it for you as they themselves do not have time, all others can do is guide you, you have to take responsibility.

BE RESPONSIBLE AND TAKE THE FIRST INITIATIVE

Nobody cares if you don't care for them, if you want something to happen you will have to be responsible and take initiative by creating an opportunity, for example, a sales representative has to go and approach his client in order to create an opportunity for his/her client to purchase the product offered or else someone else will make the sales. NOTE:- You can only control your thoughts and actions, not others.

STOP COMPLAINING

Stop complaining when things go out of your expectations and stay calm, when you are calm you will get better insights as to why things didn't go as expected and make better decisions to get a better outcome by correcting your mistakes.

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

God gives you what you need and not what you expect, yes that is 100% true, be happy for what you receive for the efforts that you have put in and try to better it by working on developing it on a regular basis and always be thankful to God for what he has given to you, lead a calm and peaceful life.
